Terms of Use

1. Agreement
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the RouteMap mobile application ("App"), operated by Jason Reeve ("we", "us", "our"), based in Australia.
By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms and to ourPrivacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
2. The service
RouteMap visualises your athletic activities on a map. Core features require linking aStrava account, with read-only access to your activity data. You may also create an account with Google, Apple, or an email address and password.
We offer optional VIP purchases (a one-time Lifetime purchase or an Annual subscription) that unlock additional features. Purchases are processed by Apple or Google and managed through RevenueCat.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or 16 in the EU) to use the App. By using the App, you represent that you meet this requirement.
4. Your account
- You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
- You must provide accurate information when creating an account.
- You may log out or delete your account at any time from Settings. Deleting your account permanently removes your data from our servers, subject to any retention the law requires of us.
- Disconnecting Strava removes the link between RouteMap and Strava but leaves yourRouteMap account active until you delete it.
5. Strava
RouteMap is not affiliated with Strava, Inc. Your use of Strava data is also subject toStrava's Terms of Service andAPI Agreement. You grantRouteMap permission to access your Strava data only as needed to provide the App's features.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Reverse engineer, scrape or abuse the App or our backend APIs.
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose.
- Attempt to access another user's data without authorisation.
- Overload or disrupt our servers.
We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms.
7. Intellectual property
The App, its design and our branding are owned by us or our licensors. Your activity data remains yours. You grant us a limited licence to process your data solely to operate the App.
Map tiles, geocoding and place search are provided by Apple, Google and OpenStreetMap contributors; use is subject to their terms.
8. VIP purchases
- Prices are shown in the App before purchase.
- Refunds follow Apple App Store or Google Play policies. We do not process refunds directly.
- VIP features may change over time. We will not remove core paid benefits you reasonably relied on without notice.
9. Disclaimers
The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Activity maps, distances and statistics depend on third-party data, including Strava and GPS, and may be inaccurate or incomplete.
We do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Outdoor navigation and exercise carry inherent risks. Use your own judgement.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law and the law that applies where you live, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the App. Our total liability for any claim related to the App is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or AUD $50 if you paid nothing.
Nothing in these Terms excludes rights that cannot be excluded under theAustralian Consumer Law.
11. Changes
We may update these Terms. The "Last updated" date at the top will change. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. Material changes may be announced in the App where practical.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. You submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.
